This course is about gaining an in-depth understanding of instructional design and how the instructional design process affects teaching and learning. We begin with The Dick and Carey Systems Approach Model for Designing Instruction (see text:Dick, W., Carey, L. & Carey, J.O. (2015). The systematic design of instruction. (8th ed.). New York: Pearson). Our focus is that all purposeful teaching and learning is a series of systematic processes in which every component is crucial to successful learning.
