Require Learner Participation | Instructor: Tonya A. Melvin-Bryant Student Practice Activities Students complete labs during class in conjunction with lesson instruction. The labs are based on html, css, and javascript, web development languages. As I discuss the lesson, the associated code is built by the students. At the end of class, students will transfer their code files using Filezilla and preview their web page. The students use the ccuresearch server to store their code files for preview and for my review. They also, as stated above, use the software tool Filezilla to transfer their files to the webserver. Although, it is sometimes difficult to get the students to understand the usefulness, w3schools.org is use as an external tutorial resource to learn web development. The resource site allows students to enter code in a smart editor and test it before uploading to the server. The students will later use the ccuresearch server to build their own portfolio-based website. Feedback Upon reviewing each student’s web page, I add comments using a rubric’s note area. The rubric is based on the assignment criteria. The rubric is located in the gradebook section of Moodle and in addition, I can add further comment in the Moodle feedback section.
